I'm liking the phpBB 3. I keep looking for some links on pages and it's sometimes hard to get to where I need, but it's just because it's a little different and the other phpBB forums I've been on have been basically the same for years. I like the looks of this new version.
Thanks again Evan and Mark for your efforts. Sometimes I feel like traffic isn't awesome here, but then I remember my other forums when they first started and there was nothing there. However, through the contributions of the members that stuck it out they became awesome resources of information. It's a horrible catch-22; small membership+small database of info leads to people bypassing our forum and going straight to other (larger) forums. I try to make a habit of doing my searches on other sites and asking my questions here so we can keep building it. I really feel we are moving in the right direction, so thanks again to you both (and other contributing members, because even asking a question here helps ensure this forums future!)!!!!!!!!
Looks great!

Re: Looks great!
Mike, look up under the car where it says "Paypal", now let your eyes travel to the left. there is a thing that says "User Control Panel"---->that's what you are looking for.
Also, Evan, I hope people find it here ok. I thought to go back to the main directory (fiatspider.com) when my bookmark wouldn't load. I bet some people might be thinking the site is still down if they use their bookmarks (ie fiatspider.com/forum) Wonder if you might do a redirect from that page? Just a thought.

I love the new look! And the search feature has so many options ... the only problem is I can't search messages posted before 06 Jan. Am I screwing it up somehow?

Redirect is a good idea - yeah I thought about that and I'll probably do it although I really wish folks would just go to the home url and then click into the forum. It gives me a little more control and security that way, in fact I may force it so head's up. But for right now, I just might implement a redirect. The reason I want people going through the home page (I mean c'mon it's just one click) is so that if I do need to take the site down for any reason I can at least communicate with everyone. It also helps SEO and ad revenue BTW - which are both valuable to us. Thanks for your ideas they are all valid.

You're right about the search - it's a major upgrade from the last version. There's no problem on your end, it's me - I have not indexed the site yet which will fully enable the search function. That's going to take the machine 3-4 hours to do that, I just haven't kicked it off yet. I'll try to do that tonight. (Thanks for the reminder!)
Keep the comments coming, I'd like to make this place as good as it can be.

Thanks Evan, I might just change my bookmark, you are right it's really only an extra click or so.

Great to see FS.c get a fresh look. I hadn't been able to log in for some time since I changed my email address (darn those pesky bots) and after a bit of a hiccup (thanks Socal Mark for sorting it out!) I am back on the forum. Long may it continue.
