Craiglist 69 Spider listed as a "Coupe"

Post by Exit98 »

Interesting 69 Spider with Cromodora CD3's and caps is posted on Craigslist as a "Coupe". Probably doesn't matter as I'm sure anyone interested in a 69 FIat would look one way or the other. Pretty original and "old school" with the white wall tires but the rust comment has me wondering what's lurking underneith. Be a shame if its rusted out.

Back in the day whitewalls weren't real common on Spiders but you'd see them from time to time. Through the 50's & 60's American cars weren't "cool" if they didn't have whitewalls. A lot of us tried to talk our cheap dad's into springing for them, often without success. So the foreign car manufacturers and dealers who wanted to sell their cars here had to offer them. Sunbeam Alpines with whitewalls were common, occasionally Spitfires too.

Even Corvettes through the 60's wore whitewalls more often than not.
