i am restoring my 1980 spyder, the convertible top is in good shape
but i want to get the car repainted and i would like to know if I can
Remove the Convertible canvas with the mechanisim all together, without separating them.
Would make it alot easier to put back after the paint job

Yes...I did it....very easy. Just use some common sense while removing and it comes right off. Took me less than 1 hour.

Two allen bolts on each side right behind the door. Remove the back black trim piece and then unscrew the frame underneath that. Comes right out. Take your time, take lots of deep breaths. The job's easy.
