Grittracing is trying to bring the race bike back home. for those who dont know. after chucky's* (the other half owner) passing grittracing lost the race bike to chuckys son due to lack of a paper trail to lay claim to the bike. I have made a offer to re-buy the drag bike I have a apointment this week to talk with him. hoping to race this coming season. however the bike has not been started since chuck's passing 3 yrs ago. I will keep you all posted .

it was a 1970 shovelhead and we ran in the dresser glass. (you had to have saddle bags and floor boards. Our best time was 10.90 .

I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

not sure the altitude, but we mosty raced in Michigan, Ohio. KY. Wisc.and a few other states along the way when we could fit them in.(we both worked 40 hr a week jobs)
It is a 1970 Harley shovel head stock lower cases.S&S inners 114 cubic in. S&S jugs stock Harley heads with racing cams and adjustable push rods.. stock harley "cow pie" trans ,S&S carb super G, Pingle fuels filter & emergency kill switch. stock harley FLH frame. stock harley FHL front end with front legs turned down to lighten weight. plastic front fender.plasic fake head light. performance machine front and rear disc brakes & calb. stock 3 gal Harley tanks. decals to look like the real emblems. custom Alumunim floor boards. front and rear wheels light weight racing wheels. rear fender plastic.stock harley fiber glass saddle bags. and it ran with the highest octane gas they sold at the track. and anything else we could take off to lighten up the bike or re make out of Alumunim without loosing any safety was done even ran without a charging system. (about 3 lbs ) even the drivers only wieght was only 135lbs to my 215lbs and most of the other drivers ( if you can picture a big biker type my size and up! :D ) however the last year we raced they where getting wise to us and on team started racing 2 bikes His and hers husband and wife team. and I have never seen. light reaction times like hers. her bike was just as fast as ours but see would beat us off the line everytme.
If i can get the bike back I have a few ideas to get lighter and fast with almost the same set up.going to have to work on rebuilding my race team. one has became a mom.another is about to graduate college, another married and moved. and Chucky R.I.P machinist / machinc / driver/ owner than me owner / machanic / crew chief / 1/2 machinist / back up driver.
