Spring rates for the track.

Ok I know a few people here are racing there cars. What I'm interested in is what spring rates are you using. Looking for a good combo for track and street but mostly track.

Sorry, no such thing. For track you use springs about twice as stiff as stock, but that would rattle your teeth in street driving...
Stock front spring rates are in the 200 lb/in range, while most racers use 400-500 lb/in. I suppose you could use something in the 250 in/lb range which would be livable on the street but stiffer than stock.

Funny thing I'm used to stiffer springs than most people. Have always liked my cars lower and firm not to harsh. Getting back into my spiders now. Most of the info I had stored in my head is long leaked out so I feel like I'm starting over again.
Thanks for the info guess It's time to start the fun.

Hello Rob,
Never really left just been kind of dormant with my spider for a while.
I've got the ok to daily my orange spider so I'm going to be putting on new poly bushings on the front. Recondition the drive-line
and install a new timing belt. That will get it road worthy again. Then off it goes to a body shop to have the frame checked as it was repaired badly back in the 90's. Once that's done then the rollbar goes in and the body get's fixed.
I have another spider that is going to be my fun see how long the tranny and rearend lasts car. That's the one that gets all the go fast goodies I've been collecting over the years.
Forgot if I asked this before but do you still have the hard top from that 74 we bought?

Hi Brad,

Nice to see your getting things going again... I basically had done the same since you and I picked up the spider I have... Now I am getting it together and gearing up for building a rotisserie. Most of the bodywork is roughed in I just need to work on the underside and trunk now. If you got to http://www.v6spider.com you can see the progress on version 2.0...

As for the hard top I sold that a long time ago my friend... sorry about that... :(
I still have the rollbar that was in that car when we got it... if you want it you can have it as I have an autopower bar that I am using in my spider. I have other front suspension stuff too... maybe we can do some trading..

When you get one of your spiders done post some pics I'd love to see it. When I am done with v6 spider and your go-fast spider is done we'll have to get together and go for a cruise. Chuckanut drive would be a lovely place to test them out! 8)
