80 yr old Fiat Driver in Accident

I don't know the 80 year old woman who was driving the 1974 Fiat near my old home, but I pray for a quick healing. Unfortunately, her 91 year old passenger did not survive the accident. I can't imagine what this was like since this is a 65 mph road.

Driver hurt, passenger killed in Hwy. 49 crash

The driver of a Lincoln sedan turned into the path of an oncoming Fiat convertible Wednesday on Highway 49 near Auburn, killing the passenger of the Fiat and seriously injuring its driver, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The driver of the Lincoln, Shawn Martin, 47, of Auburn, was not injured.

The driver of the Fiat,Maureen Turpen, 80, of Grass Valley, was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with major injuries.

Her passenger, a 91-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Martin was turning from the center turn lane into a driveway at about 11:40 a.m. when the crash occurred, and the CHP is investigating why she turned when another car was coming.

Sad to hear. I wonder how the car looks. I'd be interested to see how well our cars hold up in accidents
