Here is a link to what this top looks like on an Abarth.
Just want to be sure you realize that's not the Pininfarina top that was fitted to the Abarth cars, right? That is something more like the "smooth-line" tops. Big difference in the rear window, and also the slope of the rear, towards the rear cowl.

I'm not saying it won;t look good, I just want to be sure nobody snookered ya into thinking that was what came on the Abarth.
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

Anyone have those flares installed on a "regular" fiat. They seem cool on the Abarth, but not so sure on mine.....picture please.
Mark has this video on his web site of a '75 with fender flares:

Thanks for making sure I knew. I don't like the look of those tops. I think this one is awesome. Here is a pic of the look I'm going after.

Those aren't the add on flares. Those are actually built out.

no way the ones on the black and white are huge like 3 inch
if your not putting on huge wide tires those would be the way to go.
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

If I was to get a set of CD30's I would go with the 1/2". Otherwise, why not go bigger with the 3" :P

Does anyone have a nice set of CD30's for sale?

identical body i have in my garage

Door handles are from later cars, rear lights are the second style (built in back up lights), but front turn signals are early. I assume they chose the best looking parts, in my opinion, and built one badass looking spider.
It's an actual volumex spider if i remember correctly. So that would make the year 82+
If its an actual volumex, wouldn't he would have had to put in new tail lights, front lights and remove the front spoiler? This volumex has the the late bumpers/turn signals, late lights, and the fender flares molded into the front spoiler.

changing the lighting and front grill is easy to do. I'm going to take a 79 and do that myself.

Easy for some(definately not me :( ) perhaps but a bit fiddly for sure.
This fender and grill was spliced onto a 79 front end. 72 " A " post back.

If this is a volumex to start with, then the fender flares would have been in place already. Take a look at Jimb's post in a nice drive in a volumex a few days ago. Rear Lights look different that a late model spider, guess a retro fit.
Neat looking car regardless, the mods/additions look like great care was made.

Looking good Narfire! Looks like your keeping the side lights. Are you going with the early style ones?

Morning Brady, nope this is a resto of a 72. I'm keeping things as stock as possible, same 1608 but with a 34 dmsa is going to be the only change. I have a complete set of CD 3's for it as well. About a year behind schedule ,so I hope it will be on the road this spring. I have a body shop do the body work as I don't have the tools or anywhere near the skills do some thing like this.
Looking for a good shell of another ealier spider and still considering the 68 not far from me for the next project.(too much $$ though)

Thanks for the clarification, I didn't realize those mods were simple enough to do. I guess I'll have to plan on finding some old style signals, and installing them in the future.

I know it sounds "bad", but I've heard that the aftermarket flares for a Miata will retrofit to the Spider without too much modification. The B&W white spider is bitchin', but it's also far from original. When done with restraint & taste, I say hell yeah parts bin engineering.

Are y'all sure that that's not the Pinnfarina hard top on an Abarth Spider? Sure looks like one to me. Maybe I read the thread wrong?
