Door Cards & Capping

Post by cedarleaf »

I have an aftermarket mirror fitted to my passengers door which needs to be replaced. Could anyone please give me a step by step guide to taking off the door furniture, card and capping without ruining anything? At present my major problems are the window handle and the arm rest. Thanks in advance.

theres three phillips head srews in the arm rest the top one has a plug

theres a tool to remove the handle
but i use a coat hanger, cut 8 inches or so with a little 90 bend at the tip
point the handle down and put the tip under top side and twist so the hook grabs the clip and pull the clip off
then wiggle the handle off
a few srews and the door panel is off
when you do everything correct people arent sure youve done anything at all (futurama)

Check the mirror carefully. Many of the aftermarket mirrors screw in from the top and have caps to cover the screws. Before you take all the interior stuff out make sure you can't just take the mirror off from the outside. I had aftermarket mirrors that I took off without touching the interior.
