How are the hooks attached? I'm assuming it's using the two hooks at the rear (which all 12'4's have) for the convertible boot cover, but how are the other hooks attached to the car? I'd hate to have to drill holes in the body. When you get the car back can you send me or post some pics? I'd be interested in getting a cover for mine. Would you know if the guy you got the car from was the one that originally got the cover?
Thx - steven

Re: My "New" 1969 124 Spider
i paid 8 grand for my 69. i really dont care what any one would say ( OMG U COULD HAVE BOUGHT SOMETHING BETTER ) LOL
that to damn bad
i look at it this way. some guys/gals on this forum whether u have a fiat/vet/jag/ regardless and if u start from scratch and getting the car in great shape( depending how bad it was ) it will cost u alot to get it to grade a.
so in thinking that.i have a 69 in my garage that runs and all together.i had that car for 17 years hoping some day to get it redone . so in taking it all apart to do so, i bought some new stuff/ got the seats redone. got some new body parts / gas tank redone( twice)
now that all cost me 1500.00 ALREADY / that not includes the body, the engine.tire/wheels /wiring/the top
i prolly can go on, so anyways i find this other 69 for sale for 8 grand. DAMN i snatched that up
it had a few minor problems , i already have the identical car in the corner of my garage with new parts so i swap what i needed. motor drips oil and i really dont care, i have a 1608 from the preview car that i am going to get modified and stick in the 69 anyways
SO FIX THAT ENGINE lol
thank you
oh and by the way, all i wanted was to get this one 69 redone, that was my goal and dream car. now i have a 69 redone. a mint 72, a 80 that i got for damn near pennies ( 500) a 74 alfa romeo
and u think u got problems hahahaha, try decide which one to drive some times
that to damn bad

fiat218: Funny thing is, if I had the spare cash there are two other 124 Spiders that I would buy/restore or whatever. I would duplicate my first one (dark blue '69) right down to the smallest detail. The other would be a light blue '73 like the one that I gave to my first wife when we split up. She needed a car to drive to work and I didn't (lived next door to my job). It was only two years old and still like new. Her TR4A was on it's last legs.
Steven: You (and others) made me feel better about the car already. I just discovered that I left the tonneau cover in the barn and will send detailed photos by email today.

Re: My "New" 1969 124 Spider
Congratulations, these very early spiders were great cars. I also own a '69, bought it new for $3450.00 plus tax. Just turned
29000 miles last week. My brother bought a 1973, my son owns a 1982. I have more fun in mine than theirs. The older cars
have a different feel because they are lower to the ground and seem to hug the road better. Have fun, drive safe and keep
smiling.
