Atlanta's Italian Car Day October 8th

Post by ga.spyder »

Finally,we have an awesome site for Atl's Italian Car Day.It will be held on Sat,Oct.8th in historic downtown Norcross!!This is really exciting,as they have been trying to secure this location for weeks.People who attend the huge British Car Fair in that spot, say this will be the best ICD yet.
Cars will enter at Dominicks Restaraunt at the corner of Holcomb Bridge and South Peachtree(95 South Peachtree),and will be parked by marque. There will be Ferrari,Fiat,Alfa,Maserati,Fiat,Pantera,Lamborghini, and I-bike corrals.Show starts at 10am,trophy presentations and raffle will be done by 3pm.All restaraunts in the area will be open for breakfast and lunch.
After the show,Landmark Fiat wants everyone to come to the dealership for a dessert reception! All you owners in the Southeast, this is the event you do not want to miss!! If you just want to come in, look around and meet some of the other Fiat guys, admission is free.Show registration is $20,and includes ballots, raffle tickets, and an event poster.Show is being put on by FLU and the S.E. Ferrai Club.

I look forward to this event every year. The change of venue should make it even better!
Like Craig said, this is a great show. There are always some AMAZING cars to drool over.
Bonus for me, this is only about 10 minutes from the house!

Man, I might just have to get my act together and put the Fiat back in drivable condition! I bought my '76 in Norcross, funny enough. It had been there most of its life. I may have to come anyways even if the Fiat is not drivable. :) Thanks for the info!

I've got a '72 Spider that wants to go also! She will need a little work but I should make it. I would love to meet other owners and get some tips/help on a bunch of small issues. Do they have any kind of swap meet? I've got some extra parts that I don't need but could use some others.

How many other Fiat owners do you think are in Atlanta?
Is there a local club?

I live south of the airport so it won't be too bad for me.
Look forward to it.

Dougieb,
Hopefully you and your Spider can make it. Not sure of the exact number, but there have to be at least 25 forum members from the Atlanta area. The number of "Fiat" owners in Atlanta is growing rapidly - I'm seeing more and more 500's on the road all the time and I'm seeing Spiders more frequently as well. No telling what the total number is.
The car day isn't set up like a swap meet. Probably better off to bring a list of parts you have available and a list of parts you need. Don't forget to list those in the appropriate threads of the forum too. There is an Atlanta chapter of FLU.
Hope to see you there!

Thanks Kevin, I am DEFINATELY going to be there.
My car is questionable (ha ha)
No, we should both make it.
I am looking forward to seeing other cars and talking to other owners.
I am just starting to restore this car and need to see others to use as references.
I need some info on the best way to go with some things.
(Like replacing my DHSA carb with a 34DMSA.... which vacuum lines to use.. etc)

Thanks and look forward to it!

Dougieb,
Glad you will make it. It will be the perfect opportunity for you to meet some great people and see some great cars. You can definitely get some good ideas for your restoration by comparing the Spiders that are there. I'll be happy to give you a recap of my (apparently neverending  ) journey trying to get my Spider just the way I want it!
gwb,
I look forward to seeing your 75 in person.
Kyle,
You need to come even if you if the Spider isn't drivable. Will definitely get you motivated to get your Spider back on the road!

We will be in Atlanta that weekend for the Packers game - what a great alternative for Saturday! We will fly in, so won't Have any of the FIATS. How far is Norcross from the Stadium?

Trying to get out of a trip to Orlando that weekend. Downtown Norcorss is awesome.

For the person trying to get from downtown Atlanta (Stadium) to Norcross is about 20 miles north east. You can make it there by car, taxi or public transit. Taxi will be at least $30. For public transit, take MARTA gold line to Doraville until it ends. Transfer to Gwinnett County Transit (GCT) but route 10 and tell the driver to stop at Cementery Street on Norcross. Walk three blocks east on Cementery to downtown Norcross. GCT busses run every hour and you can use a MARTA card on them.

Thanks for the directions form the stadium area. I'm pretty sure we'll be there. Trying to find a 500 to rent now!
