Just heard from the Procare people. Front seats for my '78 are as follows:

The Low back 1400 series @ $ 220.00 per seat
and Pro 90 1300 series seats @ $ 249.00per seat

The 124 spider seat mounts # 81242 are 77.95 per seat and
these take 3 weeks to have made.

Plus shipping of $ 55.00,
plus 8.75 % sales tax.
So for 2 seats, 2 brackets, tax (Ca.) & shipping

Low back total = $ 703.04

Pro 90 total = $ 766.12

All in all, brand new seats for almost 1/2 of what it would cost me to buy new covers and have them installed on my old frames by a pro.

Can you post a pic of what each seat looks like?

A freind has Procars in his Spider and he used the stock rails and said they worked. The newer Procar Ralleys are taller than the old ones, (which fit really well). I'm 6' and had to hunch over or recline the seat with the top up.

i grewup 1 block from the upolstry shop i went to
i brought them my seats and the lether"recycled from a seat manufacurer"
it ended up costing $600
thats $100 a panel.joe

Well, apparently things are a bit more expensive out here. The minimum going rate for labor is usually around $95, with many places well in excess of $100 per hour. I was quoted prices from 3 different places, two near me and one 80 miles away. All wanted considerably more than what new seats from Procar will cost me. (I'm including the cost of the material). Same with my top. I can get the material at very reasonable prices over the internet, but having it installed is going to run me anywhere from $450-$700 depending on where I go and what type of material I get. (As if the material should matter)! Just the cost of living in God's Country, I guess

I think people have purchased tops for considerably cheaper than that. Vinyl and canvas. I think. I could be wrong. Not sure what kind of fabric you are looking for though.

I've just ordered a set of BF-Torino seats. They are 376€ each in the standard black vinyl or vinyl / cord, and 50€ more per seat for custom colours, with shipping at 95€ for the pair (the latter may be the deal breaker for an overseas purchase, as they only have to send mine about 500km by road). From the vinyl swatch I received, they managed to get really close to the original tan vinyl. I'll update when they arrive. With the strong Swiss Franc, these became very attractive. With the US dollar, some waiting is probably in order (376€ = 520 USD). My local restorer quoted me 1500 SFr (1200 €) per seat to recover the originals.

The Swiss are not known for competitive pricing in handwork.

Very nice! A bit of a budget buster for me, being across the pond and all, but I'd really like to see yours when they arrive.

Finally got around to installing the BF-Torino seats in my Coupe.

Zoom...

Pros: Beautifully made. Very supportive (wouldn't want to be much heavier than 75kg, though, as they're designed for skinny people). Quite good color match. Slightly lighter than the Fiat chairs. Headrests. Not ripped to shreds. Don't smell like coconuts.

Cons: Pain in the ass to install* Seating position about an inch higher (but maybe the foam settles). Not as delicate or charming looking. Changes the mood of the car from sitting down in the car and delicately cruising along to more sitting up on the car and pressing on with determination.

* The producer says "fits the standard Fiat rails". Yes, but you have to drill 1 new 8mm hole in each. No big deal, except the bottoms are slightly longer than the standard 124 seats. With the rails mounted on the seats, there is not quite enough travel to be able to tighten the two front screws which fix the rails to the floor. So you have to install the back seat bolts and floor bolts, then install the front floorpan bolts, then ram the seat forward and install the seat bolts, while hanging upside down like a monkey in the footwell. Oh, and the captive screws are on the floor side, so it takes about a half dozen tries, because you tighten the rails to the floor, then find the other holes don't line up with the seatpan holes, so you loosen the rails from the floor and move them. Then you tighten the seatpan bolts. And find out the whole thing is slightly off so the tracks are not completely parallel and therefore it binds. It's not perfect right now, but I have a good idea how to do it quickly the next time I take them out to lube the rails. I also had to reverse the slider release, as in its usual inboard position it interfered with the set bottom.

To be honest, if I were doing it again I would send the old seats to Germany for a proper re-upholstery with firm new foam. However, the cost for that was prohibitive in Switzerland.

500.00 to get my seats upholstered
did them the 69, and now in the 80, GOINg black leather on the sides, cloth in the middle, lime green piping

door panel leather. sage green on the bottom, black on the top, sage green painted on the lower/upper consols
back trim will be sage green too . dash is black, carpet will be black, top is black

oh and the car is that green, 1980
