replacing bushings in anti-swaybar

Post by dmwhiteoak »

I replaced the outer bushings in the swaybar last week but was not sure how the two center bushing brackets come off. I lightly tried to pry the brackets off the old bushings but didn't want to tear them up. Are they rivited together or just pressed. Its a 78 spider.thanks Dennis

You have to drill out where they are swedged together at the bolt hole.

If you don't get too crazy with the drill, (just drill thru the swedged part on the back), then the hole will still be the correct diameter. Midwest 124 used to sell the new inner bracket pretty cheap , you can just clamp them togeather and re swedge them with a ball pein hammer.
