Top down for last time

Post by Danno »

probably up for the rest of the season, but sunday was beautiful and I couldn't resist a quick drive up the river. I did about 35 minutes of straight driving and it ran great. I was about 13 miles away from home, which is a new (rather lame, actually) record for my fiat. It's all about my confidence in it. It still is running cool, and will until I change out that thermostat. I was thinking I was hearing a miss every once in a while, but now I think that has gone away. i dunno. anyway, here are some pictures of my funky car with a decent shot of the river. hopefully next year I'll be able to take the same shots with a fresh coat of paint over a bit of body work!

cool! for those of us in So Cal, it's amazing to see so much water in one spot!

ahhh, the Mississippi River, the 4th largest river system in the world. It travels through/by 10 states. It's icky and smelly in some spots, but the Midwest's agriculture and commerce just couldn't function without it!

It's no Ocean or Great Lake, but it's what we got.

On a similar note, I live in the perfect spot near the river. Far enough away that no bugs bother me, floods aren't a concern, but I can enjoy the view (at least I like the view)

someday I'll get a boat and enjoy that for recreation. How much do you think the spider can tow?

Thats awesome! I suppose its hilly too? I bet your old house has a place in the history of that area. I couldnt imagine not having rain, trees or greenery in general. But we get the tornadoes and mosquitoes in return! Now its cold and windy, and thanks to the time change, its almost dark when I get home. We boat on my friends V hull. Best way to see the stars!

Yeah I know what you mean about the last nice driving day for the winter. Some days it's gets down into the 60's for a few hours two or three times a year! I've even occasionally thought about keeping the top up in the morning! I'll be thinking of all of you while we drive along the beach in Tshirts and shorts during the next few months...
