strange noise
strange noise
i have a knocking noise in the rear of my spider. and its not the wife or lids locked in the trunk.I tried to shake anythng that might be loose. everything seems tight. what does a rear wheel bearing sound like when they are going bad ? it seems lo slow down when I slow down and speed up when I do.

Re: strange noise
bad wheel bearings dont knock, they growl. hope you havent chipped a tooth in the diffy. look for rub marks on the drive line near the e-brake handle mechanism. also look to make sure you havent picked up some garbage thats rotating with the wheel and hitting the fender.

Sounds like a U joint to me also. If it's speed related and constant it means it has to do with revolutions of a wheel, drive shaft, etc.
