Re: rocker panels
Just tried to figure out how these International Auto Parts rocker replacements go on and I have no idea. I don't have the originals for reference, so I don't even know if they are the right ones. Other than a stick that says Fiat Spider 67-85. They just don't look right. But again. I have no idea what the originals look like or how they go on.
Re: rocker panels
Here are some pics of mine. Any suggestions? Looks like I'm missing a large amount of metal near the rear tire. I could fabricate something and weld it on if I had any idea what it was supposed to look like.
Here's my label
Shot of the rocker
And the stud seems to be pointing the wrong way....

Re: rocker panels
I think it's the rear that is tripping me up? Am I supposed to bend that stud tab down? Were they supposed to do it at the factory and forgot? This thing needs some serious hammer and dolly work on the curves as well. Dimples dimples.
Re: rocker panels
NO need to weld. The hole is there. As long as the rocker covers the missing. Treat the area so it doesn't rust more.

Re: rocker panels
Nope. The hole's not there on the passenger side. The WHOLE tab is gone. Also, won't be long before the tab is gone on the drivers side too. See?azygoustoyou wrote:NO need to weld. The hole is there. As long as the rocker covers the missing. Treat the area so it doesn't rust more.
This is the drivers side ( a little tab left )
Here's the passenger side. NO tab all all! Ahh!!!

Re: rocker panels
yes fabricate a plate that will mount for one side and rivet it on
do the other side then have it welded or not
just stop that rust

Re: rocker panels
I've got a welder. Will be welding. My drill press just died... blah. Will need to get another or drop by my buddies shop to drill the holes nice.
