In case some of you don't know, Jim was the father of Whoa Brakes and the First one to mass produce the short shifter for our beloved cars. He was a great, down to earth guy and I'll miss him dearly.
RIP Jim-
Hello Everyone – This is a note to let you know that Jim passed away
yesterday, 7/25/11, here at his home in Kingman. He was diagnosed with liver
disease last December, and has been ill off and on since then. About 2 weeks
ago he acquired a full body infection (sepsis), and was hospitalized in
Kingman. Unfortunately, he continued to decline and we made the decision as a
family for him to come home on Friday, 7/22/11, and receive hospice care.
Frances and her husband came from California last Thursday. Once home we were
able to make him comfortable, and he passed away Sunday afternoon, with the
three of us at his side.
Jim has known a lot of you for many years and very much valued you friendship
and camaraderie. His wishes were to be cremated and no formal services
provided. I will be continuing to check his email for the next month or so if
you want to respond, or my contact information is below. Thanks to all of you
for being such good friends over the years.
Please feel free to pass this message on to anyone who you might think would
be interested in knowing this information.

Jim is one of the guys who, even though I never met him face to face, I considered a close friend. He'll be missed, and greatly missed.
If anyone is in contact with his family please pass on our prayers and condolences.

Re: You will be missed Jim Fierst
I remember the first time I met Jim. It was at the 2005 FFO in Missouri. I had won a set of Whoa Brakes with a raffle ticket. In 2007 I was in Grapevine, TX for the Italianfest and won the North American Fiat Spider Challenge. Jim was there to present a set of Whoa Brakes to the winner. He swore he'd never offer another set as a prize because he knew I'd win them. Later on, he'd ask me to try a part or new product out to see if a vertically challenged person would be able to use it before he'd start selling. Great guy.

So sad to hear. While I never met Jim, I did talk to him on the phone a few times and exchanged emails with him.
He was always willing to help out. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
