Trying to find ex-Fiat Motors employee

Post by GeoffE »

Hi All,
Yes it is approaching thirty years agao, however I am trying to get in contact
with an ex-Fiat Motors of North America employee - William Rude.
William was their National Marketing Manager in NJ during the early 1980's.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Cheers

Have you already seen this brief press release found in the New York Times archives:

Lancia Imports Halted
AP
Published: May 6, 1982

. .DETROIT, May 5— Fiat Motors of North America Inc. has stopped importing and distributing the sporty Italian car Lancia in the United States because of poor sales and a halt in production in Chivasso, Italy, Fiat's national marketing manager said today.''We've had problems with the Lancia line over the years, and production has been stopped with the 1982 models,'' William Rude said from Fiat's American headquarters in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.
If you go to http://www.switchboard.com and search for "William Rude" in New Jersey you'll find four listings one each in zip code 07450 & 07416 and 2 in 07419 (same address). These zips are all relatively close to Hasbrouck Heights. The phone numbers are public so you could start there.

Maybe you have already explored these leads.

Hi Doug,
Thanks for the information / link. I had all bar one of those numbers. The one I didn't have holds a great possibility as his name's middle initial is the same as the one I am looking for. I was hoping someone may have know William before I start making cold calls (from Australia!).
Cheers

Geoff,

I suppose i could call for you. If you gave me your email address and some information I could pass on for the reason you want to make contact.

We have the street addresses too, so an ink & paper letter could be sent.

If Mr. Rude was say between 35 & 45 in 1980 that makes him 65 to 75 yrs. old.

I'd say there's a good likelihood that one of the names is him or a relative.
