cutting springs

Post by sweet124 »

I read a lot of post about cutting springs it seams like know one has mention the seating of the springs after they been cut.Do you need to heat them so they seat flat like the oem or just leave them after cutting them. Also do you cut the top of the springs or bottom. Thanks

it's important to cut them so the pigtail seats in the groove . I cut exactly one coil in the rear and either one or two in the front depending on desired height

I see what your saying but I notice that the coil does not have a flat seat to seat on .What I mean is that the bottom coil will not seat flat in the lower control arm. Thanks

the end of the coil fits into a depression on the control arm. If you cut exactly one or two coils off the pigtail will still fit in that depression
