Happy 4th!

My interior rear view mirror shakes and rattles etc. has anyone ever found a better solution, aftermarket mirror or a means to stop the shake?

It's easy to take apart and repair them. The outer trim frame snaps off by pulling down and away from the head. The tabs are in the back at the bottom. At this point you can clean the inside of the glass cover and mirror surface. Under the mirror you'll find a curved metal strip that acts as a friction point. You'll also see how the day/night lever works. You can reposition these up again if that's the problem, or bend the metal strip to provide more friction.
