Rear Seat/Shelf Installation

Post by unplugged »

It has been 5/6 years since I took out the interior and I am not getting ready to put it back.
The back of the rear seat/package shelf has 2 tabs on top and 2 tabs on the bottom. The bottom tabs have holes which I assume are for screws.

2 questions.
1. The picture below shows 2 brackets on the car and the tab on the back of the seat. Do the tabs just go behind these brackets? The brackets seem over sized for the tabs which is why I am asking.

2. The tabs on the bottom have holes. I can find no matching holes in the body for where a screw would go to line up with these holes. Do they just get screwed to the body pan?

Thanks. This project would never exist except for the help I get here when needed.

On the 79 Spider that I used to have the tabs at the top of the seat just tucked under those sheet metal brackets.
