DIY Door Panels

Post by FiatSparky »

I searched and couldn't find what I am looking for. Has anyone ever attempted ( with success ) to make their own door panels? I'm tempted to try my hand at it but curious what others have to say about it. Pics would be helpfull too! ;)

Thanks in advance!

I replaced the cards (the hardboard part) and remounted the vinyl. That was pretty easy, but the large grommet where the door handle goes through the panel was a bit tricky to replace. Otherwise, it was straight forward. Do you have the curved top piece or do you need to make that too?

I'm not sure what you mean by curved piece but mine has the extra padding on the top of it? I think that's what you mean. I was thinking of leaving that, cutting the bottom part off and just re-doing just that.......easier I think. I'll give it a shot and take pics if it works.

http://www.ahh.biz/hardware_catagories/ ... ommets.htm I re made mine. Found some vinyl on sale. Also got some Masonite, and coated the cards in poly urethane. The link is for a source to the grommets. Likn to pics too http://s206.photobucket.com/albums/bb18 ... nt=012.jpg
