Thanks for the photos Russ.
Should be cured, buffed out, and the hood, trunk, and doors hung by the end of next week.

It's certainly no longer Bruno! :D

How did the truck turn out??

was surprised to see them clearcoating so late in the day. i stopped by the night before and they just finished puting on the sealer. told me they were going to shoot it first thing in the morning.
It was fun watching the painter work. I was impressed by what i saw. he was all business and had no time to even say hi. was moving at a very fast pace. this is important so you can get you next pot on the car before the previous pot starts to dry. this way you get a good blend. you can see in the pictures how he gets his head right down with the gun level. this allows him to watch how the paint lays down as he sprays. you could actually watch the reflection get better and better on the hood as the paint flowed out.
The truck came out great. The paint on the hood and the bed cover came out very smooth. the doors had a slight orange peel. just enough to give the paint a nice shimmer. because the sides are vertical you cant get that smooth without running like on a flat surface. I actually like the slight orange peel as it makes the paint come alive. If my car comes out as good as the truck, i will be very pleased.
your car will look great. your job in the engine and trunk came out so clean, you even impressed those guys.

When my wife and I were trying to decide what color to paint it we simply started to look at other cars as we drove.
My first choice was red and saw some new Toyotas that had a metal flake in the paint that really sparkled. The wife said no more red cars and suggested a blue color she saw on a Dodge. That didn't impress me so we had to compromise.
Actually saw this color D-6 Screaming Yellow on a Ford Ranger. The truck was about 8-10 years old and the paint still looked great. And that's saying something because the sun here is brutal. And red tends to quickly fade here, so maybe it would not have been the best choice.
Anyway, I really like the yellow because it will just pop off the car, and hopefully it will be noticed by all the 4 X 4's that will be sitting 5 feet above me as I'm sitting at a stop light.

Drive with your lights on too. I thought my bright red Spider was easily seen, but some dumb a** in a jacked up Super Duty still managed to rear end me while we were both stopped at a red light. Maybe the fact he was talking on the phone, arguing with his wife, and attending to the baby contributed to his inability to see my car five feet in front of him. "That's what insurance is for" was his response. How about a "Sorry"?

I like to paint my cars bright colors because I think they are sporty, fun, easily seen, and very fitting to Italian cars in general.
