Removing Primer overspay from tires?

Post by Fiat88 »

I got some light primer overspay on one of my new tires side, the plastic drop cloth slipped off the tire, next time will secure it with tape! :x Anyway have any tips to get the overspay off? Thanks.

you can try mineral spirits. Let it set for a bit. Than use a brush. Never used it on tires but i soak my trunk lid rubber and it took off all the paint. And i have used the wife's finger nail remover on a few things with over spray it works but dries what ever you put it on out.

Depending on the paint, eucalyptus oil is great for removing all sorts of undesirables including glue residue.

try acetone or lacquer thinner. take care around the wheels as these are agressive solvents that can peel certain paints. if your wheels are powdercoated, you shouldnt have an issue.
