How sunny was it at ItalianCarFest?

Post by ICF »

So I am walking through the show and Mike Greer stops me and says those 5 words classic car owners hate to hear... "Your car was on fire."

He said that as he walked by my spider, he smelled that awful stinch of something burning and then began to look for the smoke to locate what was in flames. Smoke was coming from the vinyl boot that covers the convertible top. The intense rays of the sun were striking the vanity mirror on the visor and creating a beam of light was frying a hole in the boot!

The boot is black, but you can clearly see the discolored mark on it.

Thanks to Mike for being quick take action!

you are kidding me? that's crazy!!!! I guess when you get out of your car on a sunny day you should throw a handkerchief over your mirror or something....
