I cant believe they cut that plate. They are very hard to find. Bought another about 6 months ago just because it was there. I think I have 2 now , one for my car and a spare. Ive sold 3 or 4 I think.

The simple radio delete plate shown in the photo linked below is made from 2 pieces of 1/8" furniture veneer plywood. One inside the radio console and one outside, connected with 2 trim screws. You can use walnut without staining, or I used birch with a matching stain.

There's a VERY easy way to make one....visit any store that carries car stereo equipment. Ask the shop guys for any DIN mount faceplate (they come in kits with about 10 variations of face plates with a hole for the stereo in them and a plastic surround much like the original). Take a piece of wood or cardboard, upholster it with vinyl or cover it with wood veneer and it just pushes into the opening just like the original. I have several versions left over from my last stereo installation. I keep them because I keep finding different ones that work with my various cars (I've owned 24 cars over the years). Cheap and professional looking!

I used a piece of 1/4 inch thick mahogany, stained it to match the dash, used clear varnish, glued the edges, you may want to put a tiny self tapping screw in each corner to hold it in. Good luck.
