Re: good mechanic Portland Oregon
I do a lot of work myself but the ONLY mechanic in town I would trust with high level work on my car is Jim Houser over at Hawthorne Auto, down on something like 35th and Hawthorne in SE kind of by the Bagdad. Not cheap, but worth every penny. He's got a great shop and I get the feeling he's usually running the place as opposed to working on cars daily, but his eyes always light up when I bring in my spider. Request him!

There's a shop that I trust in Eugene, which is 110 miles south on I-5. Pete at Eurosport Tuning & Repair has shop rates that make his work worth the distance from Portland, and he knows Fiats & Alfas very well. He's done everything for my cars that I've been unwilling or unable to do. I do more than half the work on my cars myself, and while wrenching I've noticed several things that Pete has done to my cars that he's never mentioned or billed me for. All good stuff.
I don't know him personally, only as my mechanic. He's not great interpersonally, but he owns and operates a very good shop that always seems to welcome old school stuff to offset the usual Volvos and Volkswagens. (541) 461-4198. Tell him Chad sent you.

Look in the mirror. Any mistake you make will only add to your growing knowledge about these cars. I've messed mine up a couple of times but have been able to get her dialed back in.
