need to get some matching touch up paint on order for my fiat to repair a couple of chips.
looking at the paint codes, it's hard to tell what I have. cherry red? rally red? dark red?
doesn't seem dark.
here's a pic (if I can get it to work)
seems to match whatever the color from the fiat in the header at the top of every page is here. anyone know which red that is?

Re: paint color help
As you know there are at least a zillion reds, perhaps even more.
If there is a good car parts place nearby, perhaps they might have a paint monitor(don't know the name of the tool) They will place it on the car where it is clean and take a reading where it should then what red you might have.
For example I took a 80 in to have checked as I needed the door painted after replacing the mirror and sagging hinge. He told me it was ....red. He made up a pint of the stuff and I had the door painted and unless you know ahead of time it is hard to tell.
I'd guess a dealers auto shop would have the same instrument/tool.

Re: paint color help
thanks - but I'm good with "close enough" so if someone could just eyeball it and tell me which of the 3 factory reds they think mine resembles, I'll just order that one and call it a day. these are just tiny rock chips.
It's the more orangish red - I've heard it called "Ferrari Red" before. I'm assuming "rally?"

PPG #136 looks about right. Is there a sticker in the trunk area with the paint code on it?

Re: paint color help
There are Automotive Paint supply as well as body Shops that can computer match your paint exactly. Break open the yellow pages in your area and make a few calls.

There should be an aluminum plate on the firewall. It will have the model .. CS1, 2, whatever you have, the VIN in most cases and yes a paint code number

Re: paint color help
Some part stores- paint stores have device they can scan the paint that is on your car and get an exact match. NAPA and Carquest are two that come to mind...
Cheers!

I had O'Reilly's scan the two tone blues on my X19 and mix touch up paint for me.
