Can I swap a 78 engine block for an 1980 (carbed)?

I assume yes however I appreciate the info. I have a new Carb EMPI 32/26 DFEV. Will I need a single plane intake? I also have a 78 head as well.

if you're swapping the 2.0 into a 78 car, your dist will be very close to the hood. otherwise it's a good upgrade

Actually it's the opposit 78 into an 80. I believe I got the carb from you last year. The engine and head cost me $160 including shipping. this is my back up plan in case my current situation is toast.

More zing, less grunt. The 1800 will be a bit more rev happy, but the 2000 will have more torque.

If you went from a stock 2L block and head with the stock 28/32ADHA to an 1800 block and head with an 1800 intake manifold and 32/36 DFEV you will be happy.

The ultimate setup using your parts would be 2L block, 1.8L head and intake, with the 32/36DFEV.

thanks I really appreciate your input, wheres a good place to find an intake? I assume I need a single plane intake.

use the intake off of your 78
