Hey guys,

Any idea how I remove the rear bumper support, as you can see it is rusted through.

If the mounting system is like the later spiders you should see a 7/8 or 22mm nut inside the trunk in the spare tire well along the frame rail. Remove the bolt and that assembly should slide out.

With this type there is only the special slotted nut that screws onto the protruding stud. I modified an old socket to fit this nut. It worked great on one of them the other was stripped and I ended up cutting the entire mount off in order to remove it. You may have to do as I did. The end result is you'll have to get a new stud and weld it in. Plus a new bumper mount. I am not going to have bumpers so removing the mounting stud was no big deal for me.

The nut was rusted in place and badly stripped thought I was able to drill out the bolt and remove the old damaged bumper support. I tapped the hole and bolted a new support in place, the case of my flopping passenger side bumper is now solved.
Thanks for all of your input.
