Cool Request! :)

Post by DUCeditor »

Just got a cool request... The agency that does the ads and catalogs for Jos. A. Bank Clothier asked if they could rent my Spider for use in a photo shoot tomorrow. I'll take my own camera along and hopefully be able to post some nice pix of the lady under the lights.

(Hope there are some cute models)

they are fun, had my Harley in a photo shot to be in a local Detroit magizen. Take some water and a friend. Always nice to have someone to talk to and incase they dont have any. Photo shoots can take a while some times. The one model was waiting when i got there half hour early and the second didnt show up for 45 min after the start time. Me being a bit of a ass i told them i didnt want them to use any of the shots with the girl that was late..have fun.

Had a fun time at the Jos. A. Bank Clothier catalog shoot this morning. The photo crew was about 8 people plus two models. (Male dammit!) Nice folks all. A very relaxed environment. And of course every one LOVED the Spider.

Here are a few shots I took as they worked. The actual shots will be largely close cropped of the model and, of course, their clothing.

Was that shot in Peterborough? The pics are so small I can't quite see the buildings enough to figure out the exact place.

Looks great though, congrats on making owning a Fiat pay!

No. (I should look so good!) The man behind the wheel was one of the two models shot in various poses with the car as a prop.

Nice people BTW. Everyone was very considerate and paid close attention to what they were doing so as not to damage the car's finish. That was necessary because every garment is pinned and clipped to make it hangs just so for each pose.

In fact one amusing thing was when one model, who wore a size "long" jacket, found the sleeve of his shirt did not extend out the exact required quarter inch beyond jacket sleeve. Their quick answer? They removed his jacket and cut the sleeve off the shirt, and then pinned it at the right length.

Also look at the height of the "driver" in the car. When he looked too low to the art director he had the model sit of a roll of paper towels I had shortly before taken from the cars trunk to help dry off the windshield after a brief, light, shower.

These shots will be in the Fall Jos. A Banks catalog.

And yes, this is the first time owning a Fiat has brought in money! That was kind of nice!

It was downtown Peterborough. I first posted the prints in a larger size but they for some reason were clipped. My apologies if the details are not clear.

Here is one more shot, this one a bit more typical for a clothing catalog...

Many thanks to Alex at AVA Restorations for recommending my Spider to the agency people!

That's so awesome! Look how your Spider makes the models look good. Sexy Italians will do that, you know. 8)

Again I say very cool, if they ever want to do more I am sure a few 100 of us would mind the drive to have our cars in a photo shoot . lol if you dont mind us asking how much did they pay

Actually I didn't post the location before the shoot for that very reason. Downtown Peterborough (almost an oxymoron) was no doubt chosen for its quiet charm. Seventy-two spiders suddenly appearing might have kind of hurt that ambiance!

However the town does hold have a cool 'cruise in' on every 2nd Sunday, right near the famed Peterborough Diner in Depot Sq.. There'll be plenty of shutters clicking there too and a host of Spiders would be most welcome!

As to that second question, my Spider is a lady and a lady never talks about getting "paid" for anything - especially with a male model.

I remember a polo shirt ad featuring Jack Nicklaus and family. The front view was picture-perfect, will children and adults looking spiffy in their alligator, or penguin, whatever, shirts. Then the rear view. Must have been 50 plastic clothes pins in use!

Joe Banks is headquartered here, and I like their stuff. Can't wait to see the catalog!
