So Ive decided to keep the original seats and not install the Miata seats. When I removed the upholstery from my drivers seat, I found the backrest frame was not cracked or damaged, but it was slightly bent. A little grunt work and it was back to straight.

I've put down a layer of Dynamat on the interior floorboards, side tunnels, under the rear shelf, pretty much anywhere I could see metal. I also struggled to get the console out to do some things there. On the Pininfarina you have to remove the center vertical stack in order to remove the console. Oh my god! There are screws hidden in odd places, the instrument panel has to come out to get to one screw! So, in the process I "bumped" the wiper stalk slightly. It snapped right off! That's when I discovered that a PO had JB Welded the stalk in place. Grrrr! I'm sure this won't be a hard item to find!

On order is a rear caliper rebuild kit and also new pads. Also getting a new speedo cable and a new clutch cable.

And the beat goes on.

I have a brand new, never installed multi-switch that was purchased during my restoration that ended up being a late model switch with "pin" connectors instead of the early switch with "blade" connectors that I needed. I was too lazy to return it. I'll let you have it super cheap since it is just sitting in my garage. Just let me know when you want to come by and pick it up if you are interested. Depending on where in Lawrenceville you are, we are probably only a few minutes from each other.
You can send me a PM or give me a call (404-291-3789).

Kevin, I "think" the one I need is Pininfarina specific. On the 83-85s, the light control moved from the dash to a stalk on the column. Is that the one you have? If so, I'm all over it!!

I'll pull it out when I get home and look. I never even took it out of the packing bag after seeing the pin connector. Will let you know this PM.

Okay,
The multi-switch that I have has a 3 position, straight stalk switch for the lights. Not sure if that is what yours has or is yours like a "typical" modern rotation switch at the end of the stalk?

Kevin, if I remember correctly, I think thats the one I need. I fly back to Atlanta tonight so I'll look at mine tomorrow AM. Man I hope yours works. I was thinking this was going to be an impossible part to track down. Amazing if it's only a few miles from me!
