1979 Fiat Spider Lights problem
1979 Fiat Spider Lights problem
I have no turn signals, I do get hazards when high beams are on but that's it. Any ideas?

Multi-switch could be bad.
Check multi-switch connections.
Flasher relay could be bad.

Re: 1979 Fiat Spider Lights problem
Your car must be related to the 80 I just bought. The left turn signal remains lit when the headlights are on, but everything else works. When you turn on the parking lights, the emerency flashers won't work but the work when the headlights are on or off...just not in parking light mode. When you disconnect the tail lights, the emergency flashers go on for about 3-4 cycles (in a very slow fashion). Everything else works correctly.
I eliminated my Hazard Switch so far (I have a few extra working ones). I hope you find a solution. I start trouble shooting mine this weekends. If I find the problem, I'll let you know.

Re: 1979 Fiat Spider Lights problem
It turned out mine was a result of the wrong lightbulb being installed in the front turn signal indicator.
Did you lights work before, or is this a new problem? I found that checking all the other lightbulbs with a continuity tester or Ohm meter to ensure they're good and cleaning all the sockets and contacts can result in a corrected problem. My 79 lights started wigging out and all I had to do was clean the sockets and they all worked again.
If nothing else, it is a pretty easy thing to do before removing the dash and tracing wiring like I did on my 80. At least I can organize everything and clean everything that was inside the dash now! Man is it filthy in there. EEEK!
Always start with the simple things...unlike I did. :-O
