Your Day Job:
What do y'all do? I was just browsing the Engine & Tuning section while on shift here as a mental health counselor at a residential treatment center for 15 uh, less mentally healthy adolescent boys and girls, and it made me wonder... As I type this there is a 15 year old banging on the glass in front of me while barking like a dog. Really, that's what's up
It's the best of times, and the worst of times, several times per hour! Your turn.

I work on my Fiat during the day. I try not to go to work at night but sometimes I have to. I service MRI's with cryogenics.

I run the short form division of Westwood One, therefore almost every traffic reporter you see or hear on radio and TV anywhere in the US, works for me. The traffic you curse at every day has been paying my mortgage for 23 years. Sorry about that!

Re: Your Day Job:
I work as graphic designer at a sign company. We do everything from bumper stickers to high rise lit freeway signs.
I design the art work, cut & prep all the vinyl graphics & build the faces that everyone sees. The back shop takes sheet metal & angle iron & builds & wires the actual sign cabinets (we are UL certified). Then we have two 72' boom/basket trucks that install/service all of it.
So basically I make stickers for a living w/ access to a full metal fab shop & paint booth. It definately has its perks for my side projects.

Idle time, Denise! give me a break. Myself, i steal hubcaps for a living. In reality, my son and I own a propane distributor. I do outside sales, permits (i'm the only one with enough patience to not assault public officials) and any electrical that is required.

I don't have a simple answer since I work for the Air Force: Basically, I'm somewhat of a life skills coach and Accredited Financial Counselor, Master Resilience Trainer, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People licensed facilitator, employment counselor, marketing consultant, life skills trainer, relocation counselor, web administrator, Casualty Affairs representative/assistant... Those are just the main duties.

great thread idea. I am a sales manager for the professional division of a large consumer pagkaged goods company that manufacturers brands such as Lysol, Easy Off, D-Con, Resolve, etc. I love the job but hate that I spend more time on planes than in the garage.

My "day" job is actually at night, during Tokyo hours. I manage risk for a hedge fund which could mean anything from trading to programming to IT/support.
During the day I design and manufacture car parts.. or attempt to rent camera and lighting equipment.. or nurture other escapist realities.
