Tie Rod Nuts? Ace Hardware comes through!:)

Post by Fiat88 »

Are these special nuts or just regular nylon lock nuts I can pick up at a hardware store, I'm asking because I kind of ruined two of them using the hammer method before I got wise and rented a front end puller kit. i'm kind of having trouble finding these nuts. I believe there M10 x 1.25 but not sure if all the tie rods supplied use the same thread size. I want to get the center link back in temporarily until I get new tie rods put in this month. Any help would be appreciated.

All tie rods ends should use 10mx1.25 nyloc nuts. Sometimes the new tie rod ends come with the nuts.

Having trouble finding this size (M10x1.25 nyloc nut), Pepboys and sears only have m10x1.50 nyloc nuts. :x

I have plenty of these saved from scrapped cars. You can have as many as you need if you cover the shipping. I can ship them in a padded envelope for about $2. Send me an email matt.scarton@gmail.com

I don't know how many times they can be reused and retain adequate holding power, when I've had to reuse them, I've used locktite. I bought a bag of 50 from my local Fastenal for $14.00.
