What Shock Towers should NOT look like!

Post by KalamazooJohnny »

Previous Owner: "Been parked a long time, don't remember why we quit driving it".
Me: "Maybe the shock towers?"

I'm thinkin bondo and duct tape wouldn't be a good idea.

Yes, both sides, but I thought photos of the other side would just be redundant.

That is unfortunate and not easy to fix... I feel very lucky... are you planning on fixing this? Or finding another body?

Fawlty Towers! Ha-Ha....Loved that show!
The "Basil" charactor was one of John Cleese's best! Alway yelling at "Manuel" the waiter.
That show only ran for 2 seasons, 6 episodes in 1975 & then 6 more in 1979 (4 years later).

I didn't plan on fixing them, I bought another body, but it came with enough to rebuild it without ruining this car, so I am going to purchase some towers to have in case I ever make it to restoring this one. Still not sure. I hate to destroy the car, I drove it across my yard last week even with the towers crushed like this. I wasn't playing around mind you, I needed to move it and it moved under its own power, so I drove it. These bad towers are on my 76.

Rust encapsulator, duct tape, bondo, I know we are just joking around, but I actually looked at a spider last year that the owner had filled the towers with minimal expanding foam, and where it had pushed through the rust holes, he had sanded it smooth and painted over it, like nothing was wrong.

Woohoo! They arrived. I think now after getting them, I will try to save the 76. These towers look very usable to me.
Thank you Ralph for cutting up your car to repair mine! And for giving me such a reasonable price.
