Upper Trailing Arm

I am looking at replacing the rear short upper trailing (reaction arm).

Quality wise, is there a difference between those available at Vicks and IAP? Auto Ricambi doesn't have any for my year car.

There is probably not a difference quality wise between the two vendors. The early versions up to 78 have replaceable hour-glass shaped bushings. Some of the vendors carry the replacement bushings, Urethane is also available. The later versions from 79 on are said to be a stronger design, but the bushings are not replaceable.

Also, the older ones fit on the newer cars, and vice-versa.

Any special tricks to replacing the uppers? Or do I just need to put jack stands under the rear axle? Having problems getting the first one off.

I just replaced mine. But I replaced all of them. The lower control arm bracket bolts to the body. What I did was
1- Loosen the lower bracket.
2- Replace the upper control arm.
3- Replace the lower arm.
4- Tighten the lower bracket.

Seems straightforward enough: On a lift, on stands, on the ground? With or without trans jack?

I had the car on jackstands, and a jack under the axle.
