Nice Article on Spanish SEAT Spider licenced by FIAT

Post by onlysardegna »

Here is a nice article with great photos on the 1966 SEAT 850 Spider. Fiat licenced the Spanish manufacturer to produce a spider. The article is in German! However, even the pictures are great. The article is saying that only when the Spanish automakers came up with that coop they were finally producing something exciting. They do though call the SEAT Spider "FIATS poor cousin".
Also quite fun: Scroll down and on the left side you find recorded sounds such as motor / blinker etc.! Sounds a little like mine!

Enjoy!

I didn't know Seat even made that car. I only know them from back when they produced under VW and did not know about the history with Fiat. That was very interesting, thanks for posting this.

I was stationed in Spain from 96-99. SEAT was everywhere. Most people there drove the older models backed by fiat. Before I left there were more VW backed models showing up. I owned a 131, panda, and a 124 sedan while I was there. There was also the uno, 126, 127, and 132's. I never seen any spiders while I was there.
