Gee Dave, I don't know. Is she a gadget lovin gal and would a vacuum benefit your project in some way?
Would the silver cause a glare in the windshield? I think a dark grey/silver two tone paint would look sharp.
I wouldn't think it would be hard to use heater duct to vent the heat higher up. That's a cool idea and mine already has the vents for it.

In the old forum there was guy who made a one piece wood dash that extended past the center section and ended at the glove box door. He eliminated the chrome plastic piece so he could include extra gauges. The pics he posted were great, clean lines with the gauges streched out like your new dash (but it kept the wood). Anyone have any info?
Here is the custom dash I just installed. Was purched blank from Mark...

Mark V- no glove box, but it could be possible, Will make a upper console with the heater controls, wiper delay switch, blower switch, and cigar lighter. Have not made the dec on the radio location yet. This was a big job, must thank pitch in and tech advice buddies, otherwise I did 99%.If you read earlier posts on this thread, you will see that I got it from SO Cal Mark. I hope there are not many of them out there. If anyone is seriously interested, I could be helpful. D Ill see you at FFO! Dave

Kind of reminds me of the batmobile.
The red accents on the gauges really tie it all together. Without that, it wouldn't look half as good. Nice job.
Still, there is a lot of black. Have you thought about the chromed plastic trim rings for the gauges? That would be a great finishing touch, and really make the gauges stand out.
My $.02

It reminds me of an Alfa dash. I'd like to see the gauge cluster a bit closer together and it would be nice to see a glove box. All in all it looks really nice! Cant' wait to see it finished inside.
