Hey all. Been spending a lot of time reading both Spider forums, trying to soak it all in. So let me ask a question here.
I've now got both of my 1976 Spiders safe and sound at my home. Very happy and excited. I posted the pictures of the first one in the "Introductions" section earlier. Picked up the second one yesterday. Here are pictures of it... http://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa4 ... %20Spider/ Definitely a bit more rusty...just a tad. And really, really dirty from sitting in a barn. Need to give it a good wash and cleaning. But since it's more assembled, it's the one I'm going to try tinkering with first.
I got lots and lots of parts with the cars. I have 4 radiators, 5 carbs, tons of interior parts, and a whole bunch more. But there are lots of other parts that I'm not quite sure what they are. Kinda feel dumb asking, but hey, I've got to learn. I think I know what some are, but I'd rather be sure. Others, I have no clue. Can you help me identify them? http://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa4 ... ese%20are/
Total noob question...what are these parts?

Box 3c: intake/exhaust cam gear. Timing belt runs them.
Box 5: EGR valve and piping that runs from the exhaust header over the front of the head and connects to the intake manifold
Box 4a: water pump pulley, coil for electronic ignition with control module attached, condenser/static eliminator, and not sure about the two tear drop things
Box 4: another electronic ignition coil, along with mounting harness
Box 3b: rear brake proportioning valve or compensator, and actuating arm
Box 3a: one front, one rear caliper
Box 3: not sure

Box 4a: The two tear drop things are levers for the heater control in the lower center console.boogiedude wrote:Box 3c: intake/exhaust cam gear. Timing belt runs them.

Box 3a: both are driver's side
Box 3: The bracket is from a coil pack assembly, same as in Box 4. The bolt looks like its for an air pump(not an original fiat bolt).

Awesome, thanks!! I thought the two in box 3 a were calipers, but they didn't look quite like the ones I've seen on other cars. And I also thought right about the electronic ignition. Good to know that I was on the right track. The other items, I'd have have never figured out.
Now I've got a good listing of all my inventory, time to get dirty...
