removing cowl vents
How do you get the two long vent grilles out of the cowl without throwing the cowl against a block wall, stomping on it, then cutting it in half?

Re: removing cowl vents
I don't know if your car is the same as mine Denise; should be three rubber grommets on the bottom side of the vent that are supposed to twist out. Maybe spray them with some type of lubricant first. I had good luck on one of my cars, and not so much on the other. Once you have completed that there are two metal clips that can be carefully pried up and pushed forward. They should slide right out. I hard time finding replacements for the ones I broke. I replaced them with machine bolts and silicon-ed them in place and they seem to work fine.

I ended up twisting those rubber grommets completely off and popping the metal clips into the grass somewhere, but I only mangled one grille! They sure didn't want those suckers going anywhere, did they?

Re: removing cowl vents
I have removed mine, lucky didn't break anything. The two grills are connected in the middle with a metal clip. It has to be taken out as one complete grill. I shouldn't say I didn't break anything, I broke the two grills away at that metal clip. Didn't need to replace anything, just put them back in as they were. Actually glad they are now in two pieces, easier to handle.
