first time EVER

Post by mbouse »

walked into the local discount auto parts store this a.m. to be greated by the usually cheerful (at this hour anyway) young clerk.

Hey, anything under 38 is young, o.k.?

He said "Nice Fiat" as he glanced out the store window.

You could have pushed me over with a feather. I have neverhad a discount auto clerk know, acknowledge, or even have an inkling of what a Fiat is, much less call mine by name the first time.

Don't you love it when you go to the parts counter and they ask

"Who makes a Fiat?"

Granted nobody has been in there and asked for a Fiat part since before that young kid was born, but come on It's right there in the computer screen, the first menu to choose from.

My favorite thing to do is parts research online, then when I go in, I just tell them the part number. Sometimes it blows their minds, they think you are the computer.

I always answer them with an innocent look on my face and say "The Italians".

I would expect the next question to be; " the who?" or "is that a car company?"
