As a car guy I have been to plenty of forums for plenty of different types of cars.
For example, rock crawling/ road racing/ shifter karts.
ford, chevy, mazda, toyota, jeep, ect...
Can we create a few stickys for the noobs and folks that have some questions in reguards to the more popular subjects.
I am currently removing my bumpers, I will be happy to create a thread on a "how to"/ rear bumper is kind of funny at first glance when DIY...
Also, a wheels that are available to us. Company's, prices, links...
A breif explanation for the wheel adapters/ bolt pattern we use
A DIY "tune up"- will be doing one myself here soon and am happy to document the proccess
preffered Parts, places to order from tips ect(using seafoam/gap on plugs/) changing fluids/preffered fluids.
Can you guys help generate some information one these 2 subjects. Please share different wheels and where to get them/prices if available
Also, please provide me preffered parts/links for general tune-ups. I will be happy to help provide a write up when I do mine.
Thanks all, hoping to help make it easier for the next guy that gets into this type of car.

Stickies would benefit the forum members! I hope it's something that can be done be the moderator. We can then start a thread to determine what topics should be a sticky.

The software used to create this forum does have the ability to have Stickies created by the Administrator
http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/phpbb3-permissions See about halfway down in the Quick Answers.
But somebody with administrative permissions must monitor and maintain the stickies to keep them on-topic, accurate and useful.
"How to Post Photos" is a frequently-asked question I'd nominate for stickiness.

I like the idea of stickies. From a practicality standpoint we have identified a need and the ability for the system to handle this function. However, I would offer some caution as the forum potentially moves down this road for a couple of reasons. This is a free forum that has voluntary contributions to sustain existance. We do not have a mandatory membership fee like many organizations. IMHO the stickies would require a professional edit process. This moves the adminstration of the forum from a moderator perspective with open discussion to editor for the stickies area. Given that most questions such as tune up, tire size, engine modification and.......(endless list of FAQ's) can be found with various opinions and approaches using the search function, I would ask is this really a burden we should put on a moderator of a free site. Again, I like the idea of stickies. I'm just not sure it is within the scope/flavor of the current forum where you can get several options and solutions to various issues and you decide yourself what action to take based on opinions. Step by step suggestions are different than issuing technical bulletins.
Just my two cents. I would definitely benefit from stickies but fully understand if that is not something implemented at this site. No harm asking as long as we understand if the answer is no.

I wouldnt say the mod dosent have any intrest in this. I would say he dosent have time at the moment. There is just one mod. Ive been to his shop and he needs an extra set of hands and everything else right now. Has alot on his plate. im sure when things slow down he will address this, it is a good idea.
